If you are a painter, How long would you take to complete an art like this?
About an hour ? May be half hour? But, I know some one who completed this painting in roughly SEVEN minutes.
He works for IBM in the HR Department and is a India’s Got Talent – 3 Finalist.
He is (hint::Water mark on the painting) a painter who paints with a difference.
Takes about less than ten minutes for a painting and
watching him paint is a treat for people who are impatient.
Watch him paint here before you move on to read about this 27-year-old immensely talented Vilas Nayak.
So, Vilas, How did you begin painting?
I began painting when I was about 3-4 year old.
It’s all trial and error kind of method I have applied as I didn’t learn art in any school.
I am basically from Ujire (Mangalore district)
and the beautiful nature of my village inspired me to continue painting.
How long do you usually take? Do you get nervous?
When I paint on stage I usually take about 3 to 5 mins.
It depends on the complexity of the work.
When I started painting on stage I used to get really nervous
because its always challenging to complete a painting at such a short duration.
However now I am used to it and do not really get nervous!
What do you do for a living?
I work for IBM Global Process Services as HR.
What is the form of painting you do called?
I call it as – Hues n Tunes.
Because it’s the shades of color that comes on the canvas
as per the music that would be playing in the background.
Painting of Mother Teresa
You painted Sachin in the reverse direction and immaculately.
I am sure it was difficult with audience and the judges gaping at you.
How did you manage?
Painting a portrait upside down is always challenging.
Moreover my favorite bollywood star Salman Khan was present on that day
which added little bit of extra pressure!
However once I start painting I forget everything
and just concentrate on the painting.
And it’s a great sense of satisfaction and joy and
when I turn the painting upside down and finish it off with my hand impression.
Advice to the painters?
I do not have any advice to painters
because each one is unique and special in their own way.
